The Food Pyramid

Most of us can remember the infamous "Food Pyramid" from our earlier years, but rarely do we remember the details.

So here's a refresher....

The Food Groups

*Grains
*Vegetables 
*Fruits 
*Oil
*Milk
*Meat & Beans



Tips:
Make half your plate fruits and vegetables. 
Make at least half of your grains whole grains. 
Make your protein lean.
Switch to fat-free or low-fat (1%) milk.
Oils can provide essential nutrients
.

Every mom needs plenty of rest in order to keep up with the everyday stress and family responsibilities. Here are four ways to help you fall asleep faster.

Eat dinner early. Eat dinner early preferably around sundown in order to give your body enough time to digest and not interrupt your sleeping patterns.

Play relaxing music. Turn off your TV, shut down your computer and turn on a few instrumental tunes.

Take a warm bath. Take a warm lavender bath to relax your muscles and slow down your mind.
